The KFTC approved the takeover of Eastar Jet by Jeju Air

The Korea Fair Trade Commission (Chairperson: Joh Sung-wook, hereinafter “KFTC”) approved Jeju Air to acquire shares of Eastar Jet after the merger review. Eastar Jet was recognized as a “failing company” under Article 7 (2) of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act (hereinafter “MRFTA”) and exempt from the application of the antitrust restrictions under Article 7 (1) of the MRFTA.
